Forecast Explores 'Fed Policy and the Outlook for Growth'

Cal State Fullerton economists Anil Puri and Mira Farka will discuss the outlook for the national economy and Orange County at the Midyear Economic Forecast Conference, "The Visible Hand: Fed Policy and Outlook for Growth," presented by CSUF's Mihaylo College of Business and Economics. Title sponsor is California Bank and Trust.
Anil Puri, dean of the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics since 1999 also served as co-director of the Woods Center for Economic Analysis and Forecasting.
Mira Farka, associate professor of economics and co-director of the Woods Center for Economic Analysis and Forecasting, previously served on Wall Street as an economist with Deutsche Bank in New York.

The midyear conference "will focus on the outlook for growth and expansion in the face of a number of recent developments: the beginning of interest rate hike cycle by the Federal Reserve ("the visible hand"), the slump in oil prices, the surge in dollar and the global slowdown," Farka explained. "We will discuss our outlook for expansions and the main risks to the economy over the next two years," she said.
