Osher Lifelong Learnning Institute Offers Free Lectures

What:

Cal State Fullerton's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, in conjunction with the Golden Hearts Group at St. Jude Medical Center, is offering a series of free, public lectures on various medical issues. The series – offered at three off-campus locations – will focus on "medical literacy" to promote an understanding of the medical conditions, as well as diagnosis and treatment options.

Sept. 9 – "Alternative Treatments for Pain Management" with Stephen Tsai, physician and founder of the East West Medical Group

Sept. 23 –  "The Latest Research and Advances in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cancer" by oncologists Sanja Sharma and David Park, St. Jude Medical Center

Oct. 7 – "Thyroid Disorders and Other Uncommon Disorders of the Endocrine System in the Mature Population" with endocrinologist Samim Enayat, St. Jude Medical Center

Oct. 21 – "Aid in Dying" presented by representatives of the St. Joseph Health System and Compassion & Choices

Nov. 4 – "Lowering Your Risk for Dementia" with Joshua Grill, researcher and director of education for UC Irvine Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders

Nov. 18 – "The Expanding Scope of Robotic Surgery" by Theodoros Daskalakis, robotic general surgeon
