Major General Visits Campus

Major Gen. Peggy Combs, commanding general of the U.S. Army Cadet Command, is completing a two-day visit to Cal State Fullerton as part of her commanding general's annual training brief.

During her visit yesterday, Combs met with CSUF President Mildred García and C. Jessie Jones, interim dean of the College of Health and Human Development, of which the Military Science Program is a part. Combs, joined by Col. Samuel Williams, commander of the 8th Brigade, presented campus administrators with the Cadet Command Coin of Excellence, given to organizations or leaders that do outstanding work or support for the Army.

Combs also met with representatives of the University's ROTC program, and today, will hold a briefing with professors of military science from 14 regional universities, including: CSU campuses of Fullerton, Fresno, San Diego State and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo; University of Montana; University of Nevada, Reno; UCLA; UC Berkeley and USC.
