CSUF Professor Predicts Presidential Winner Using Engineering Model
Nov. 7, 2016
CSUF’s Chandrasekhar Putcha, professor emeritus of civil and environmental engineering, predicts that Hillary Clinton will become the next president of the United States.
Putcha, using an engineering mathematical model he created, determined that Clinton will receive 284 electoral votes — 14 more than the 270 needed to win — to Trump’s 254 electoral votes. There is a 1.9 percent margin of error.
He also predicted that Clinton will take the popular vote over Trump by about 1 percent, 43.63 percent to 42.52 percent with a .0001 percent margin of error.
