CSUF Expert: Raising the Smoking Age Has Benefits

Joshua Yang, a Cal State Fullerton associate professor of health science, talked with the Orange County Register about the state’s vote last month to raise California’s smoking age to 21. Approval by Gov. Jerry Brown would make the law take effect on Jan. 1, 2017. Yang believes that if signed into law, the age increase could provide significant health and financial benefits for the state.
