Bringing College Opportunities to Former Prison Inmates

Project Rebound, a program to help former California prison inmates attend college and find employment afterwards, will see their first group of students at CSUF in the spring of 2017. With a tradition of opening doors to higher education for those who have historically lacked such opportunities, Project Rebound hopes to help participants integrate into the CSUF community and find access to the university’s full range of resources and facilities.
The undertaking at CSUF is spearheaded by assistant professor of philosophy Brady Heiner, through a $500,000 grant from the Opportunity Institute and an additional $200,000 from the Chancellor's Office, to fund the expansion of Project Rebound to this and seven other CSU schools.
