CSUF’s University Extended Education Reaches Young and Old in the County

From 7-year-olds to 90-somethings, Cal State Fullerton University’s Extended Education division works with individuals of all ages.

Programs overseen by UEE include the Fullerton Arboretum, Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, on-campus summer camps for children and teens, and study abroad and certificate programs. Kari Knutson Miller serves as interim dean of UEE; Carol Creighton is the associate dean.

“We are a hybrid of sorts. We administer self-support,” Miller said. “We administer the programs, and for many of the programs we have academic college partners.”

UEE’s responsibilities include informing the off-campus community about what CSUF has to offer and vice versa.

The division employs faculty and leaders for its many programs – degrees and certificates are “facilitated completely by the academic college,” Miller said.
