Michael Dukakis Discusses the Road Ahead for U.S. President

One day after the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, political science professor Michael S. Dukakis, the Democratic nominee for president in 1988, will visit Cal State Fullerton to share his thoughts on “President Trump — What’s Ahead?”

The free, public talk will be begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, in the Rotary Club of Fullerton Room 130 of the Pollak Library.

Dukakis is a professor of political science at Northeastern University and a visiting professor at UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs. He served three terms as governor of Massachusetts, from 1975 to 1979 and 1983 to 1991.

He and former U.S. Sen. Paul Simon authored “How to Get Into Politics — and Why,” a book that encourages young people to consider politics and public service as a career.
