The Central Valley's Air Pollution Affects Children With Asthma

California's largest agricultural region, the San Joaquin Valley, has suffered from severe air pollution, forcing California to spend more than $400 billion over the past 25 years to implement hundreds of strict air pollution control regulations.
These investments have gradually reduced the number of poor air quality days, yet the brown haze overhead is visible on many days. The air quality is still contrary to federal industry, commercial and vehicle dust pollution standards. According to a study by Cal State Fullerton, it found that an increase in asthma, especially in children, is associated with air pollution.
