Fullerton Arboretum Exhibit Showcases Korean Pottery

The Fullerton Arboretum welcomes a new exhibition featuring works from artists in Yong-In, South Korea and the Muckenthaler Cultural Center in Fullerton.

“Echoes of Buncheong Ceramics,” showcases dozens of Buncheong pieces in its exchange exhibition. Buncheong — which means “blue-gray makeup” in Korean — is a traditional Korean pottery technique of putting white “makeup” on dark clay. Crafters would carve, cut, paint and stamp on clays before they were twice baked.

The exhibition, the fourth Buncheong exchange exhibition between the two sister cities (Fullerton and Yong-In, South Korea) since 2013, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays-Sundays through Aug. 26.
