Students Using Public Relations to Make a Difference

Two CSUF public relations students are putting their classroom knowlege into real-world application by assisting and promoting an upcoming event for the Irvine-based Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. 

Claire Imada and Elizabeth Gallardo, seniors in the College of Communications, are bringing their public relations skills to support the 19th annual Reaching for the Cure Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Kids Run at Irvine Valley College in which all proceeds will benefit the organization and its partners.

According to Gallardo, "This one has more of a meaning to it because all of the money that we do raise goes toward the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. And all the research that they do really helps. It’s meaningful because you know that you’re making a difference, and we’re putting in that time and effort."
