Faculty Publications Explore Arab-Israeli Conflict, Use of Social Media as a Training Resource

Professor emeritus of history William Haddad has authored “The Arab-Israeli Conflict in the Arab Press: the First Three Decades,”  a brief historical narrative of Arab newspapers from the 1940s to the mid-1970s, and how the Arab print media viewed the Arab-Israeli conflict. The book was published by University of Chicago Press.

A faculty-alumni collaboration has resulted in a new article titled “Intelligent Planton Image Classification With Deep Learning,” authored by Shawn Wang, professor of computer science, and Hussein Al-Barazanchi ‘17 (M.S. computer science) and published in Vol. 8, Issue 6 of the International Journal of Computational Vision and Robotics.

Eve Himmelheber, professor of theatre and dance, discusses a study that explores capitalizing on students’ self-initiated predilection for social media as a tool not only for understanding contemporary global culture but also to expand opportunities for online/electronic training resources in her co-authored article, “Neo Education, the Smart Learning & Decoding of Culture for Training the Global Performer,” published in the June issue of the International Journal of Latest Trends in Engineering and Technology.
