Titan Voice: Computer Science Student Inspires Next Generation of Tech Women


I recall studying in Mihaylo Hall at Cal State Fullerton as a freshman business student, reviewing my notes for my first information systems course. This particular study session felt different than most, which I initially attributed to my coffee finally kicking in. How else could I explain my sudden, enthusiastic interest in a textbook about computers, of which I knew nothing?

At the time, my understanding of technology stemmed from movie portrayals of dark computer screens, endless lines of green text and incessant typing. I had heard the doomsday-like narratives that often accompany forecasts of technological advancement in artificial intelligence and robotics. I was intimidated by technology and believed it was outside the realm of work in which I could partake. Nevertheless, my newfound attraction to computing, stimulated a lasting fascination with technology.
