Economists Predict Continued Economic Growth at a Slower Pace


The Fall Economic Forecast, presented Oct. 25 by Cal State Fullerton Economists Mira Farka and Anil Puri, is getting global attention.

Farka, an associate professor of economics, and Puri, provost emeritus and former dean of Mihaylo College of Business and Economics, presented the annual outlook to 700 business leaders at Hotel Irvine. Their research reinforced predictions that an economy on fire will continue to keep a recession at bay for at least two years. The talk and 50-page report focus on real GDP growth, economic growth in the United States, job growth in Orange County, and global taxes and tarrifs that remain volatile.

Puri said “the key factor for Orange County has always been economic diversity,” and while “the expansion will meet its maker one day,” it will not be in the next two years.
