CSUF: Three Members of a Salvadoran-Guatemalan Family Graduate at Same Time

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams,” says the famous phrase of the former first lady of the United States, Anna Eleanor Roosevelt that three Latinos made real: María Barrientos de Pantaleón and her children, Danny and Elisa, who obtained their university degrees at the same time at Cal State Fullerton.
After two years of intense efforts and the total support of her Guatemalan husband, Mario, María Barrientos de Pantaleón, originally from Armenia, Department of Sonsonate (El Salvador), obtained her master's degree in education, while their daughter and son earned bachelor’s degrees.
The previous weekend, the Pantaleón family attended the Chicano/Latino and Native American graduation night at CSUF. They put their future in their own hands and demonstrated that the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their own dreams.
