Library Displays Underground Comics Dating Back to the Mid-1960s

A display of underground comic books in the CSUF Pollak Library captures the countercultural atmosphere of the 1960s and 1970s. The Gus Koehler Collection features comics with storylines that explore topics considered taboo in mainstream society. Some Marvel comics are part of the collection.

The exhibit is curated by Caralou Rosen, who earned two bachelor’s degrees from CSUF in 2014 — in history and women’s studies — and serves as an intern for University Archives and Special Collections. The exhibit is on the second floor of the library and on display through May 18.  Continue reading in the Orange County Register.
