Nursing Graduates Get More Than Just a Diploma


Deanna Jung, assistant professor of nursing,  explains that while most graduates get a diploma upon graduation, nurses also get a pin as a symbol of their achievement and a visual expression of their dedication to serving others.

The tradition traces back to Florence Nightingale, who was awarded a medal in recognition of her service in the Crimean War. Since 1916, pins have been awarded to all nursing graduates. Continue reading in the Orange County Register.
