Outstanding Thesis Award Presented for Bison Research


Calvin Duncan, a Class of ’17 graduate from the master’s program in biology, designed a research project to study fertility control of the bison population on Catalina Island. Duncan conducted fieldwork on the island for several years and published his research in the Journal of Mammalogy.

Duncan's research earned him the 2018 Giles T. Brown Outstanding Thesis Award — one of the university’s most prestigious student awards. Continue reading in the Orange County Register.
