CSUF Alum Calls Business Program a Home Run for Students and His Firm

 

The Lean Operations & Supply Chain Management Learning Laboratory in the Mihaylo College of Business and Economics is off to an auspicious start. The first group of students to benefit from the new internship program were coached by former Toyota managers and impressed their client.

The students applied the carmaker’s approach to problem-solving to help Safariland Group, a fast-growing manufacturer, get its on-time deliveries back on track. "The results are far better than I even thought,” said Scott O’ Brien, Safariland president and a Class of ’77 CSUF business grad, who also served for five years as chairman of the Toyota Supplier Council. “What made me feel good was to watch these kids grow,” he added.
