Business Students Use Research to Help Local Businesses


Through a semester-long entrepreneurial class, students learned how to apply their classroom lessons to real-life situations while providing free or low-cost consulting to businesses in the community.

Atul Teckchandani, associate professor of mangement, divided his class into teams at the first class meeting and had them choose clients to work with during the semester. His students did consulting for coffee chains, a pizza restaurant, a music collective and a home health care business.

Two teams worked on similar client challenges: how to attract more millennials into the business. One was a hair salon, the other an insurance office. Continue reading in the Orange County Register.
