An Emergency on the Border: Student Production Shows Hardships of Caravan Migrants

After five months of hard work, Cal State Fullerton journalism students recently presented their digital journalism project in which they qualify the crisis of the people who are stranded on the border of Tijuana.
The students crafted a magazine show after traveling to the border town during a Fall 2018 semester course as an on-site learning component for the Comm 438T course on specialized reporting and reporting about minorities of the Southern border.
The video stories focus on the migrant caravan, migrant children, displaced veterans, militarization post 9/11 and NAFTA's influence on border towns. The CSUF students filmed at both sides of the border and took a four-hour tour along the border barriers with the U.S. Border Patrol. Continue reading (and watch the video in Spanish) on Univision.
