Sept. 11, 2019
New rankings from U.S. News & World Report places Cal State Fullerton third in Top Public Schools in the Western region, seventh in Best Undergraduate Teaching and 12th in Most Innovative Schools.
The rankings for Best Undergraduate Teaching focuses on schools "where faculty and administrators are committed to teaching undergraduate students in a high-quality manner." College presidents, provosts and admissions deans who participated in the annual U.S. News peer assessment survey were asked to nominate up to 15 schools in their Best Colleges ranking category with a strength in undergraduate teaching.
The innovative listing is similarly based on the peer assessment survey that asked school administrators to nominate institutions “that are making the most innovative improvements in terms of curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology or facilities.” Last year, the university was ranked 25th on the innovative listing.
In addition, Cal State Fullerton ranked 17th in Regional Universities - West, and 15th in “Top Performers on Social Mobility,” a ranking computed this year on four ranking factors: average six-year graduation rate, average first-year retention rate, Pell Grant graduation rate and Pell Grant graduation rate.
The campus was recognized 26th in Best Value Schools, a ranking based on those colleges and universities that offer the best value for students.
