Michael Davis is remembered for his supportive compassion and desire to help others, along with his wit and sense of fun. The associate professor of communication sciences and disorders at Cal State Fullerton died June 17 at the age of 68.

Students mentored by Davis describe him as a great listener who believed in them and “always had their back.”

Arriving at CSUF in 1981, Davis spent 39 years teaching audiology courses and serving as graduate coordinator for the communicative disorders program, interim communicative disorders area coordinator and director of the CSUF Speech and Hearing Clinic. He was a member of American Academy of Audiology and California Academy of Audiology as well.

Davis received his bachelor’s degree in communicative disorders and master’s degree in audiology from Utah State University and doctorate from Wayne State University.
