Palm trees flanking the walkway leading to the Titan Student Union frame the cover of today’s (Oct. 8) edition of Diverse Issues in Higher Education, which cites “Cal State Fullerton among institutions employing a host of interventions to help students persist, graduate.”

The proof is in the issue’s “Top 100 Degree Producers 2015,” ranking CSUF No. 5 in the nation for the number of bachelor’s degrees awarded to underrepresented students, and first among public universities that award primarily bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

The rankings are based on 2013-14 preliminary data collected by the U.S. Department of Education.

In addition, Cal State Fullerton is:

• No. 4 in the nation and No. 1 in California for bachelor’s degrees awarded to Hispanics

• No. 12 in the nation for bachelor’s degrees awarded to Asian Americans
