President Mildred García serves as a panelist at the Friday, Oct. 30, conference of the Anchor Institutions Task Force, a growing network of about 600 leaders who are promoting the engagement of anchor institutions in community and economic development. Fellow panelists include presidents/chancellors from Augsburg College, Cleveland State University, University of the West Indies and Rutgers.
The panelists will address the roles their institutions play in collaborating with local schools and others to improve educational conditions and outcomes for vulnerable children, their families and communities.
