Students, Faculty Aid Nepal

Share This:

Cal State Fullerton’s Physics Club has organized a donation drive to collect funds for medical supplies, tents, blankets, flashlights and other basic necessities for the people of Nepal. Following the recent powerful and deadly earthquakes and aftershocks, the students, led by their club president, Jackie Cross, and staff physicist Shovit Bhari, a native of Nepal, wanted to help.

The student club so far has raised almost $2,000 and sent supplies with Jeffrey A. Kottler, professor of counseling, who joined relief efforts to counsel earthquake victims in the country where he founded the nonprofit Empower Nepali Girls. Binod Tiwari, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering, also is there, assessing quake damage to buildings and other structures.

The Physics Club will be sending more supplies; information and details on how to help are online
