President García to Address Orange County Business Council

Share This:

Described by the Orange County Business Council as “one of Southern California’s leading executives,” CSUF President Mildred García will be in the spotlight May 17 at the council’s Chairman’s Leadership Breakfast.

During the morning program at The Center Club in Costa Mesa, García will be interviewed by Tom Phelps, chair of OCBC’s CEO Leadership Caucus.

Since her arrival on campus in 2012, Cal State Fullerton has seen a 20 percent improvement in six-year graduation rates and a significant drop in the achievement gap between underrepresented students and their campus peers — an advancement cited by the Orange County Business Journal in its “OC50” list, published this month. Included every year since being named CSUF president, García is among the “mainstays,” listed in its “annual inventory of influence.”

The Orange County Business Council advocates at the county, state and federal levels for business interests throughout California and the nation, focusing on four core initiatives: improving infrastructure, enhancing workforce development, increasing the supply and range of workforce housing and promoting robust economic development.
