Pathways to Peace Exhibit at Pollak Library Through May

An exhibit of artwork, poetry and literature that explore pathways to peace as a response to global violence and war is currently on display at Pollak Library.

“Golds of Rice Blend With Bombs: Pathways to Peace” puts into context the quest for peace from the 20th century to today.

The exhibit runs through May 27 and is located on the second floor terraces of the Pollak Library.

The display features artist and printmaker John Risseeuw’s Handmade Paper Landmine Print Project, recreated broadsides inspired by Betsy Lohrer Hall's original artwork on the ubiquity of guns in American culture, poetry broadsides from the Center for Book Arts in New York City, poetry books from Pollak Library’s Special Collections and books from the library’s circulating collection.

The exhibit is curated by Jie Tian, a reference and research librarian; Patricia Prestinary, University archivist in University Archives and Special Collections; and Jonathan Cornforth, a reference and instruction librarian.
