Authors to Discuss the Role of Culture in Learning

Alicia Fedelina Chávez and Susan Diana Longerbeam, authors of “Teaching Across Cultural Strengths: A Guide to Balancing Integrated and Individuated Cultural Frameworks in College Teaching,” will lead a Tuesday, April 5, program for campus educators.

The 2:30-3:45 p.m. workshop is offered by the Faculty Development Center in partnership with the Educational Leadership Department.

Alicia Fedelina Chávez is associate professor of educational leadership and policy at the University of New Mexico; Susan Diana Longerbeam is associate professor of educational psychology at Northern Arizona University. In addition to “Teaching Across Cultural Strengths,” both authors have a number of books and articles related to multicultural education and learning, campus climate and student success.
