Cal State Fullerton’s Information Technology Division will be honored by the Association for College and University Technology Advancement next month in recognition for its Shared Cloud Services Initiative.

Amir Dabirian, vice president for information technology and chief information officer, will accept the award on behalf of CSUF during the ACUTA annual conference April 26.

IT’s Share Cloud Services Initiative shares cloud solutions with multiple institutions to achieve the goals of the California State University’s Synergy Project, explained Dabirian. The Synergy Project was enacted six years ago to reduce administrative costs through more effective and efficient means.

“Through the shared cloud services, we were able to create partnerships with other campuses and thereby improve services, implement cutting-edge technologies and reduce costs and, in turn, benefit students, the system and the state of California,” said Dabirian.

These shared services include business- intelligence solutions that deliver student success dashboards for several CSU campuses, telephone services with CSU Dominguez Hills, a Learning Management System with CSU Los Angeles and a virtual computing lab infrastructure with UC Irvine.
