Explore Over 180 Million Years Of OC History at ‘Ancient Wonders’

The John D. Cooper Archaeological and Paleontological Center will host “OC’s Ancient Wonders,” a free educational family event this Saturday, Sept. 9, featuring the region’s rich heritage of natural history, prehistoric animals and plants, and Native American culture.

The 11 a.m.-3 p.m. event will feature displays of local fossils and Native American artifacts, educational crafts and hands-on activities for kids of all ages, archery demonstrations, Native American storytelling, guided hikes, a volcano demonstration and a butterfly tent.

Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do is expected to attend and participate in the event at Mile Square Regional Park in Fountain Valley.

Parking is $5 per vehicle. The event will be located at the park’s Nature Area and Archery Range. Mile Square Regional Park is located at 16801 Euclid St. 92708. The Cooper Center is a partnership between CSUF and OC Parks.
