Two Cal State Fullerton administrators are being honored for their contributions to the University and to teaching.

Lisa Kirtman, dean of the College of Education, and Tonantzin Oseguera, associate vice president for student affairs, are both being recognized with a 2017 Giving Back Award by INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. The national honor recognizes “college and university administrators for their commitment to diversity through leadership, and for giving back to their campus and community.”

Kirtman became CSUF’s dean of the College of Education on Aug. 16 and has served on campus since 2000. She served three years as the college’s associate dean, as well as chair of the Elementary and Bilingual Education Department and acting chair of Literary and Reading Education. Kirtman has served on a number of college and University committees.

Oseguera was appointed associate vice president for student engagement in December after having served as dean of students since 2013. She oversees the Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers, the WoMen’s and Adult Reentry Center, Associated Students Inc. and the Dean of Students Office.

The award is presented “as a tribute to your passion and dedication, along with your demonstration of outstanding social responsibility throughout your campus and community,” said publisher Holly Mendelson in announcing the winners, who will be recognized in the April 2017 “Leadership Support and Giving Back” issue.
