Update: The meeting time has been changed from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. to 1-5 p.m. for this program.

University Police and Titan Recreation are sponsoring a spring program designed to teach women awareness and defensive techniques useful in threatening situations.

Rape Aggression Defense, or RAD, is a three-session, 12-hour program offered at colleges and universities throughout the country. It covers risk awareness/recognition, as well as risk prevention, reduction and avoidance. The program, which has been offered on campus since 2001, will be taught by Officer Katie Cappuccio.

Sessions are open to 20 individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis, and are scheduled 1 to 5 p.m. Fridays, Feb. 24, March 3 and 10 in the Student Recreation Center’s Harvey McKee Room (130).

A $25 program fee pays for the RAD manual available on the first day of class; a certificate is provided upon completion of all three classes. Workshops require comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. To reserve a space, call University Police at 657-278-2515 or email kcappuccio@fullerton.edu.
