Cal State Fullerton has claimed the Big West Commissioner’s Cup for the first time in school history.
The Titan’s cup-winning overall average was 116.8 points, the highest average of the Big West Conference. The award recognized the outstanding year for the Titans with five teams reaching their NCAA tournaments, the highest tally for a single year in university history.
A special year:
- Men’s and women’s soccer won the Big West Tournament in the fall to advance to the round of 64.
- Men’s basketball claimed the Big West Tournament title for the third time in program history.
- Softball won the Big West Championship for the third-straight year and advanced to the NCAA Los Angeles Regional Final.
- Baseball claimed the Big West Title, qualified for the NCAA Tournament and is hosting its 14th Super Regional in program history this weekend.
- The men’s track and field team won the Big West Championship for the second straight year, and the men’s 4×100-meter relay is set to compete at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Cal State Fullerton is the first cup champion other than Long Beach State or UC Santa Barbara since former member Pacific won the first two cups from 1998-2000. Continue reading in Titan Athletics.
