What a weekend for Titan Athletics!

On Saturday, softball clinched the Big West Conference  title for the third year in a row after defeating UC Riverside at Anderson Family Field. Then, also on Saturday, men’s track and field won the Big West title for the second straight year and for the second time in program history at CSUN.

CSUF softball found out its playoff seeding at an NCAA selection watch party on Sunday at Roscoe’s in Fullerton. The crowd erupted when the team learned it is the No. 3 seed in the Los Angeles Regional hosted by UCLA . The squad will take on No. 2 seed Texas State, at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.

To capture its Big West title, the men’s track and field team scored 154 points to win over Long Beach State who was second with 136.5 points. UC Davis had 121 points in third place.

“I’m very, very proud of our group,” track and field head coach John Elders said. “We came together as a team really well and supported one another. I think the fruits of that is that we were able to put together this kind of performance.”
