Alumnus Michael R. Groff, retired president and chief executive officer of Toyota Financial Services, will offer insights into leadership to students and others at the Wednesday, Feb. 6, Titan Future Leaders Series. The 11 a.m.-1 p.m. program in Titan Theatre is open to the campus community and public.
Alumnus Patrick Donahue, chairman and chief executive officer of Donahue Schriber Realty Group, will host the event and interview Groff ’78 (B.A. business administration-management). Donahue kicked off the leadership series in October, which featured an interview with Cal State Fullerton President Fram Virjee. Groff and Donahue ’78 (B.A. business administration-marketing) were roommates while at CSUF.
Groff joined Toyota in 1983 and held a range of positions and roles within the company. He led TFS USA from 2013-18. The company has current managed assets that exceed $120 billion and employs more than 3,300 people across the country. Groff, who also served as CEO of TFS Americas Region, is a national trustee for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. He also holds an MBA from Chapman University.
The Titan Future Leaders Series is designed to provide CSUF students with opportunities to engage with, and learn from, influential leaders. Through interactive discussions that highlight leadership, overcoming challenges, and the importance of identifying personal passions and skills, CSUF students will develop leadership ideals and learn strategies for success in education, the workplace and beyond. CSUF’s Center for Scholars and Student Life and Leadership are presenting the program, sponsored by Bank of America.
