The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts has announced a $100,000 grant over two years to the Grand Central Art Center to support the Artist-in-Residence program, which invites artists from around the world to work and live at the center for a set period of time.
Current exhibitions by artists-in-residence include Susan Robb’s “Wild Times.” Upcoming events activities include artist-in-residence Daniel Tucker, returning July 11-13 to present a time capsule ceremony, in collaboration with the Teen Program of the Santa Ana Public Library.
The Grand Central Art Center opened in 1999 as a joint venture between Cal State Fullerton and the city of Santa Ana in the core of that city’s emerging Artists Village. The center occupies a full city block in a 1924 building that was transformed into a modern three-level structure incorporating studio and living space for students, exhibition spaces, project room, black box theater, gift shop and café.
The foundation, created in accordance with Andy Warhol’s will, seeks to advance the visual arts around the country and abroad.
