California State University faculty and staff members were awarded more than $3.4 million in grants and contracts during the fourth academic quarter. Among the awards received through the University’s Auxiliary Services Corp.:

Katrina M. Payne, Small Business Development Center, Mihaylo College: $2,219,989 contract from the Small Business Administration to continue to oversee the SBA’s regional small-business development network for Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Related: Supporting Entrepreneurs

Claire Cavallaro, dean of the College of Education: $1,257,526 grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for “California Teachers Convening.” Related: CSUF Among Leaders of July 31 California Teachers Summit

Laura Gil-Trejo, director of the Social Science Research Center: $123,216 contract from the Sonoma County Junior College District for “Survey of Former Community College Students.”

Tami Foy, interim director of the Office of Research Development: $91,779 award from the National Institutes of Health and Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development for “CSUF Research Gateway Project.”

Mindy B. Mechanic, professor of psychology: $20,000 from the California Wellness Foundation for “Universal Screening for Intimate Partner Violence in Routine Clinical Care.”

David Obstfeld, associate professor of management: $12,000 John Randolph Haynes and Dora Haynes Foundation award for “Leveraging Social Capital to Achieve First-Generation College Student Success.”

Dawn Person, professor of education and director of the Center for Research on Educational Access and Leadership: $10,000 from the Fullerton School District for “iPersonalize: The Gamification of Education.”
