Cal State Fullerton President Mildred García has been spending the last two weeks in Korea, making valuable connections with that country’s institutions while cheering on the Titan baseball team, which is representing the United States at the World University Games.

García and other campus representatives met with Korean administrators to build partnerships and cross-cultural exchanges with institutions whose interests align with CSUF, including the South Korea Ministry of Education, Ewha Women’s University, Korea University and Busan Tourism High School.

Taking part in the effort were: Danny Kim, vice president for administration and finance, and his wife, Haejin Kim, who helped facilitate the visits; Ann Camp, chief of staff; David Forgues, chief of operations for student affairs; and Jim Donovan, athletics director.

The Titan baseball team has been in Gwangju City, Korea, since July 3, competing against Mexico, Czech Republic and China Taipei, making it to the semifinals where they fell to Japan. The team plays tonight (July 11) for the bronze medal.
