In an effort to give female campus and community members the tools and options to protect themselves in threatening situations, Cal State Fullerton’s University Police Department is offering a new session of the Rape Aggression Defense program.
The nationwide program has been offered on campus since 2001.
The 12-hour certificate program, which includes a discussion on confident body to help reduce victimization, is conducted in three segments: 1-5 p.m. Fridays, Sept. 18, 25 and Oct. 2 in the Harvey McKee Room of the Student Recreation Center.
RAD is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost is $25 for the three-part program, payable by credit card only.
Attendees should wear comfortable workout clothing and tennis shoes, and bring water and a pen or pencil. Participants receive a certificate upon completion of all three sessions.
More information is available on the University Police website. To register, call 657-278-4308. Parental release forms are required for participants who are under the age of 18.
