“A Ramble Through the Deep South – 1928: Bluegrass, A Boy’s Story … and Desserts!” comes to Meng Concert Hall in a 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, event featuring a performance of the Andy Rau Band and a reading of Truman Capote’s “A Christmas Memory.”

Actor and director Michael Kearns will join husband-and-wife alumni Dale Raoul ’73, ’79 (B.A., M.A. theatre arts) and Raymond L. Thompson ’77 (B.A. theatre arts) for the reading of the holiday classic. Both alums are 2012 recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Award. Raoul’s Hollywood career has included roles in “Under the Dome” and “True Blood,” while Thompson, also an accomplished actor, has earned eight Emmy Awards as a lighting designer.

The fundraiser is organized by the MAMM Alliance for the Performing Arts, a College of the Arts support group. Tickets are available online or by calling 657-278-3371.
