Joining the ranks of business faculty this fall is Mohammad Reza Habibi. The assistant professor of marketing recently completed his doctorate in business administration from Concordia University.
Prior to earning his doctorate, Habibi served with a number of companies, so he brings that experience to the classroom.
Why did you pursue the opportunity to join the Titan community?
I was looking for a major university with a dynamic environment, constructive academic atmosphere with equal emphasis on teaching and research. I was impressed by the collegial environment of our department, the university facilities and the genuine commitment to help our students realize their goals and dreams.
What do you most look forward to now that you’re here?
My main goal now is to prepare my students for their career and their life. My motto is “your success is my success.” To see my students (after 10 to 20 years) be the most successful and happy people they can be would make me proud. I want them to remember what they learned here and continue to appreciate it years after graduation.
What areas of continued scholarship and research are of particular interest to you?
I study consumer behavior and marketing. More particularly, I study the interaction of new technologies with consumers and consumption communities.
What are some of your outside activities, hobbies, or interests?
I love sports such as soccer, ping pong, mountain climbing and swimming. I was a member of my undergrad university soccer team for five years. Among other hobbies are photography, music, movies, cooking and riding my bicycle.
