After a long career as production stage manager for South Coast Repertory helping put together many productions, Jamie Alan Tucker is now an assistant professor of theatre and dance at Cal State Fullerton.
Tucker holds an M.B.A. from the University of Redlands and an M.F.A. in dance, specializing in stage management, from the University of California, Irvine, as well as a B.A. in theater from the University of South Carolina.
Why did you pursue the opportunity to join the Titan community?
I had the opportunity to guest lecture many times in the Department of Theatre and Dance over the past few years and to meet many of the students. In my visits to Cal State Fullerton, I realized I wanted to be a part of the department. It also was a very natural progression for me, to move away from the professional world and into academia.
What do you most look forward to now that you’re here?
Working with the students.
What are some of your outside activities, hobbies or interests?
I am an avid cyclist and I love to play a good game of softball.
