Why did you pursue the opportunity to join the Titan community?

I chose CSUF because it is a great institution that puts a high emphasis on both teaching and research. I also was drawn to the department of visual arts because of the opportunity to teach and mentor talented art and design students.

What do you most look forward to now that you’re here?

I am looking forward to motivating students to show broader perspectives and various opportunities in graphic design and the digital media arts. I would love to guide and mentor students on the cutting edge of user experience design, interaction design and interactive media arts. Furthermore, I would love to collaborate with researchers, artists and designers in various disciplines across campus.

What areas of continued scholarship and research are of particular interest to you?

My research focuses on the development of interactive data visualization and interactive media artworks, using new media technology such as virtual reality and sensing technologies. I’m currently working on grant applications and other funding resources to conduct my research in these areas.

I would love to work with students in both graphic design and computer science with grants to continue my interdisciplinary researches. I believe there will be great opportunities and unique experiences for them to learn different ways of thinking in conjunction between art and technology.

What are some of your outside activities, hobbies or interests?

I enjoy traveling, photography and live music of all types.
