Cal State Fullerton President Mildred García will deliver the University’s annual convocation address before an assembly of faculty, staff, students and guests at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15. Included among those in attendance will be new faculty members joining the campus this year.
The program in Meng Concert Hall in the Clayes Performing Arts Center will be followed by a reception.
García is expected to review the achievements Cal State Fullerton has made over the past year and provide an update on the Strategic Plan. She also will focus on where the institution will be moving in the upcoming year to meet the plan’s four goals:
- Develop and maintain a curricular and co-curricular environment that prepares students for participation in a global society and is responsive to workforce needs
- Improve student persistence, increase graduation rates Universitywide and narrow the achievement gap for underrepresented students
- Recruit and retain a high-quality and diverse faculty and staff
- Increase revenue through fundraising, entrepreneurial activities, grants and contracts
In addition, García will be unveiling some of the incredible achievements of 2015-16.
