Five speakers, including three Cal State Fullerton alumni, will network with students about the gerontology field Wednesday, April 5, during the Careers in Aging event.
The panel of experts includes:
- Diane Patterson ’06 (M.S. gerontology), founder of Success in Aging TV and editor of the “Journal for Success in Aging”
- Brandi Orton ‘10, ‘13 (B.A. sociology, M.S. gerontology), director of government relations and advocacy at St. Barnabas Senior Services
- Christian Otbo ’12 (M.S. gerontology), administrator at The Cottage at Artesia Gardens, a residential care facility
Alumni Susie DiGiovanna ‘96, ’07 (B.A. sociology, M.S. gerontology) and Rosa Garcia ‘13, ’16 (B.S. human services, M.S. gerontology) will host booths and provide information about their employers in the aging and children’s therapeutic fields. They are among a dozen representatives who plan to participate at informational booths.
The free, public event is set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Shapiro Wing of the Ruby Gerontology Center at Cal State Fullerton and is sponsored by Sigma Phi Omega and the Gerontology Honor Society.
