Plans are underway at Cal State Fullerton to kick off the University’s yearlong 60th anniversary celebration, beginning with convocation in August and concluding a year later with the 2018 convocation address.
“Our 60th anniversary year is a celebration of the remarkable journey of the University, from its humble beginnings amid the orange groves to being the first-tier national university of more than 40,000 students that it is today,” said Mildred García, Cal State Fullerton’s president. “Our growth and evolution is proof that ‘Titans Reach Higher’ is not only a saying we’ve had for the past few years, but it has been part of our DNA from our start.”
During the year of celebration, various events and activities are being planned, including a special 60th Anniversary Concert Under the Stars and a Titans-only night at Disneyland.
“What we can promise is that our 60th anniversary celebration will be a year to remember,” said Greg Saks, vice president for university advancement. “We encourage faculty, staff, students, alumni, donors and members of our community to help us celebrate this milestone anniversary.”
