Cal State Fullerton’s late associate vice president emeritus for international programs and dean of University Extended Education will be honored with the 2017 Golden Oak Award Saturday, June 17 at the Fullerton Arboretum’s annual Summer Solstice Garden Gala.
Harry Norman, who served the University for 23 years, led efforts to raise more than $4 million to build the arboretum’s Bacon Pavilion and Orange County Agricultural Nikkei Heritage Museum. He also helped develop the Children’s Environmental Education Program, which has served more than 65,000 K-12 students.
The gala, hosted by the Friends of the Fullerton Arboretum and held on the botanical garden’s grounds, will feature a 5:30 p.m. reception and silent auction and a 7 p.m. dinner.
Tickets are $135 per person, with proceeds benefiting the arboretum’s environmental education programs, plant conservation and gardens. For more information, contact 657-278-4010.
