To drive student scholarships, Cal State Fullerton’s Athletic Training Program will host its eighth annual Golf Tournament Scholarship Fundraiser Saturday, July 15, at Coyote Hills Golf Course in Fullerton.
Titan alum Andy Paulin ’78 (B.S. physical education) will announce the inaugural recipient of a new scholarship named in his honor, and Julie Max ’78 (B.S. physical education) will present the third annual recipient of the Julie Max Athletic Training Scholarship.
Paulin, who has served as head athletic trainer at Mt. San Antonio College since 1983, was inducted into the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Hall of Fame in 2011. Max, who retired last fall as Cal State Fullerton’s head athletic trainer after serving the University for 37 years, was inducted into the NATA Hall of Fame in 2007. Max is among nine Titan graduates serving on the 12-member committee organizing the event.
Registration begins at 11 a.m., and shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Prizes for best ball, longest drive, longest putt and closest to pin will be awarded. Dinner and scholarship presentations begin at 6 p.m.
The registration fee is $175 per person or $650 for a foursome. Green fees, golf cart with GPS, range balls, valet bag service, lunch, commemorative shirt and a donation to the CSUF ATP Scholarship Fund are included with registration.
