Mental Health Conference to Explore Issues for Asian-Pacific Islanders

CSUF’s Department of Social Work joins the nonprofit Viet-Care in hosting a Friday, Oct. 6, API Mental Health Empowerment Conference from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Titan Student Union. The keynote speaker is Congresswomen Judy Chu, who currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee and is a member of its Health and Human Resources subcommittee.

Sessions will focus on parent-child interaction therapy, engaging seniors in wellness and recovery services, API and transgender communities, integrated services and management programs, and overcoming barriers to accessing mental health services.

Cost to attend is $150 for individuals, $75 for agency sponsored attendees and $50 for students. More information and registration is available online.
